Christies Beach Primary School is an R-7 school situated in the picturesque southern beachside suburb of Adelaide. The school has an enrolment of approximately 300 students. In recent years enrolments have dropped as demographics in the area have changed.
The school actively promotes its values of Good Manners, Friendliness, Courage, Persistence, Resilience and Empathy and prides itself on its Restorative Practices, when assisting students with our behaviour education programme. To support this approach a huge focus at our site has been the implementation of ‘Play Is the Way’. Specialist offerings include the Performing Arts, Indonesian, ICT and Science, while physical activity is strongly promoted. The students regularly achieve success in a range of sporting endeavours, have been state winners of the Wakakirri Dance Festival, an outstanding choir and have been finalists in national film-making competitions.
Staff are committed to developing and promoting a culture of care with students, staff and the wider community. The school is committed to the Accelerated Literacy and has implemented a range of literacy intervention strategies to improve the reading skills for all students at risk R-7.
Our school has an Aboriginal student population of over 60 students who are very well supported by our Aboriginal Education teacher, our Aboriginal Community Education Officer and an SSO all dedicated to improving the achievements of our students.
Our school strongly promotes its school vision which states: “The goal of our school community is to encourage all students to fully participate in all aspects of their learning, striving for excellence and realising their full potential, in an emotionally and socially competent manner”

Taikurrendi Children and Family Centre is our sister site, located on the corner of Maturin Avenue and Price Street.
